build-test-artifacts: do not hardcode component names - #3689
Using hardcoded names makes the test work only for "devel", and requires updating the
component names for each release branch.
Use the Git URL prefix to find the components we're interested in. This makes
the process work on any branch.

The build-artifact test now identifies snapshot components by checking whether their source Git URL starts with the configured repository URL. It uses the first matching URL and selects the most frequent nonempty revision among matching components. Validation and download behavior remain unchanged.
Artifact test runs for fork-origin pull requests may test the wrong upstream revision or fail outright, instead of testing the fork's changes. This does not affect upstream branch builds. Resolve or explicitly accept this before merging.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "build-test-artifacts: do not hardcode component names" matches the main change. The summary says component selection now uses the prefix of each component's source.git.url instead of a fixed list of component names, so the title names the primary change accurately and concisely.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description states that hardcoded component names limit the test to "devel" and require updates for each release branch. It says the change uses the Git URL prefix to find components, which matches the changeset, so the description is related to the change.
Full details: Docstring Coverage
Explanation
No eligible functions found in the changed files. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 0 functions across 0 files. (1 skipped: 1 unsupported.)
Full details: Stable And Deterministic Test Names
Explanation
The pull request changes only tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml. The diff updates shell and jq logic for source URL and revision selection. It adds no Ginkgo test declarations or test titles, so it introduces no unstable or overly specific test names.
Full details: Test Structure And Quality
Explanation
PASS: The pull request changes only tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml, a Tekton build-artifact pipeline script. It adds no Ginkgo test code or It() blocks, so the listed Ginkgo structure and quality requirements do not apply.
Full details: Microshift Test Compatibility
Explanation
PASS: The pull request changes only tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml, a Tekton build task. The diff adds no Ginkgo e2e tests or test declarations, so the MicroShift test compatibility check does not apply.
Full details: Topology-Aware Scheduling Compatibility
Explanation
PASS: The pull request changes only source-revision selection logic in tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml. It does not add or modify deployment manifests, operators, controllers, replica settings, affinity, topology spread, node selectors, tolerations, or PDBs. The topology-aware scheduling check is not applicable.
Full details: Ote Binary Stdout Contract
Explanation
PASS. The pull request changes only tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml, a Tekton PipelineRun shell script. The changed lines update jq selection logic and do not add or alter an OTE binary entry point, Ginkgo suite setup, or process-level Go logging. The script's echo output is pipeline-step output, not stdout from an openshift-tests-integrated binary.
Full details: Ipv6 And Disconnected Network Test Compatibility
Explanation
PASS: The pull request changes only tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml, a build pipeline script. It adds no Ginkgo e2e tests and introduces no IPv4 networking logic. The GitHub URL and curl download are build-step behavior, not a new Ginkgo test subject to this check.
Full details: No-Weak-Crypto
Explanation
The pull request changes only component filtering in tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml. The added lines use jq URL matching and revision selection. They introduce no MD5, SHA1, DES, RC4, 3DES, Blowfish, ECB mode, custom cryptography, or secret comparison. The existing SHA-256 snapshot tag logic is unchanged and is not a flagged algorithm.
Full details: Container-Privileges
Explanation
The pull request changes only source-component selection logic and comments in tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml. No added line contains a prohibited privilege setting. Both existing steps run as UID 65534 with runAsNonRoot=true and allowPrivilegeEscalation=false in both base and head.
Full details: No-Sensitive-Data-In-Logs
Explanation
PASS. The pull request changes only snapshot component selection in tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml. It adds no logging statements. The existing log prints only srcREV, and the pull request does not change that log format or add passwords, tokens, API keys, PII, session IDs, hostnames, or customer data.

Include fork-origin components in source selection.
For fork PRs, .tekton/osc-operator-bundle-pull-request.yaml publishes the fork URL through CHAINS-GIT_URL. A snapshot component from a fork PR can then carry that fork URL in source.git.url. The prefix filter at tests/build-test-artifacts.yaml:127 does not match the fork URL, so the component is excluded from revision selection.
The script then does one of two things. It can use the most common revision of the remaining upstream components, and the comment at lines 118-121 notes those can be stale. Or it can exit at line 134 when no component matches. This change introduces the regression because the previous name-based selection did not depend on the URL.
Select the source URL and revision from the component that triggered the build, not from an upstream URL prefix. The inspected code does not show which snapshot field identifies that component, so this comment does not propose a replacement expression.

Using hardcoded names makes the test work only for "devel", and requires updating the component names for each release branch.
Use the Git URL prefix to find the components we're interested in. This makes the process work on any branch.
