Native beta and stable releases currently publish without a Discord announcement; the existing Discord job belongs to the retired Docker workflow. Use the existing
DISCORD_WEBHOOKafter the native workflow publishes a complete release. Send its version, channel, release notes and GitHub link, without Docker image instructions.Keep notification delivery in a separate job after publication. A rerun of an already public candidate does not announce it again. The standalone workflow can preview or retry an announcement for an exact published tag without rebuilding or republishing Core; manual runs default to preview. Require complete native assets, keep long notes within Discord’s limit, strip schema comments, disable mentions and wait for a saved message id. Webhook failures fail the notification job and do not change the published packages.
Validation: six notification tests, four existing release-note tests, workflow YAML/shell checks and a preview from the actual v0.148.0-beta.1 release pass. Full
GOFLAGS=-p=2 make verifypasses. Workflow/CI changes only; Changesets exemption applies.
