what i'm on

whatimon Banner

A personal space to showcase your current obsessions and crowdsource your next favorite thing. Built for Shift APPens 2026. Now with cross-media search across movies, TV shows, books, music, podcasts, albums, and games.

Overview

Share what you're into and get curated recommendations. A community-driven platform where users post their current interests and passions, while discovering new favorites from others. Built with Next.js and Supabase for secure authentication and seamless user experience.

Problem & Solution

The Problem

Social media profiles today are increasingly standardized and generic. Every profile looks the same. A photo, a bio, a follower count. There's little room for genuine self-expression or to communicate what actually makes someone who they are right now.

Our Solution

what i'm on gives users a personal space that reflects their current obsessions, the book they can't put down, the album on repeat, the show they're addicted to. Profiles are fully customizable and built around real-time interests rather than static information.

Key features:

  • Current interests — share what you're into right now across music, books, movies, TV shows, games, podcasts and more
  • Full profile customization — fonts, colors, layout — your profile, your identity
  • AI-powered recommendations — discover new things based on your taste
  • Social discovery — explore other people's profiles and find your people through shared obsessions

Tech Stack

  • Next.js 15+ (App Router)
  • Supabase (Authentication and Backend)

  • Tailwind CSS
  • Search APIs: TMDB, Google Books, iTunes, RAWG, OpenRouter
