Explorer 1 is an ExtJS based application, Explorer 2 is based on Ember JS. Explorer 2 does everything that Explorer 1 does plus extra functionality like browsing all the tree hierarchies plus info for pathways and diseases and the links between them, compounds and targets. There are subtle differences between the URL patterns which you need to be aware of if your application currently links to Explorer 1 but you now want it to link to Explorer 2.
