CE and CSN pin assignments

Describe the behavior you would like

When creating the RF24(CE_PIN, CSN_PIN), on a basic Arduino you can use any digital GPIO pins for CE and CSN. But I highly recommend using pin 10 for CE, and pin 9 for CSN. Because that's what the integrated Nano/nRF24L01 boards use. It won't work otherwise.

I've considered this, but on the Uno/Nano (328 based boards) the default Timer1 pins are 9 and 10, so any library that utilizes direct timer driven output would see a conflict.

Users can specify their pins, but we will likely stick with CE 7 and CSN 8 for the time being.

You can change them to your liking. That's the point of defining CE_PIN and CSN_PIN in the code.

No 2 boards are exactly the same. Most people (including myself) need to change the pin numbers depending on the board they are using. BTW, it sounds like you are using an older version of the RF-Nano board; the newer version has switched to the pin numbers we use in the examples.

Not sure if this is the place to ask this but... I am short of ports on Arduino Nano on a project and wish to use the nRF only in receive mode and seemingly can therefore just connect the nRF CE pin to 3.3V. However, I find that I need to define a CE pin when initiating the nRF using the RF24 radio(7, 8); // CE, CSN and thus, in this example, port 7 gets used by the library. I can, after the RF24 radio command, take over port 7 and use as I want it seems but is there a more robust way of telling the library not to need to use CE if receive only is wanted? Thanks for any advice.
