docs(client): fix examples for current constructors - #1196
Update the client basics, overview, and transport guides to match the current public constructors, including the stdio environment argument, pointer client type, and constructor error handling.
Client documentation examples now use pointer-based client values and handle constructor errors. Transport examples also update client-pool error handling and cleanup, and the in-process transport example returns initialization results instead of waiting indefinitely.
Helper signatures, stored client fields, and operation examples use *client.Client.
Transport construction and pooling www/docs/pages/clients/transports.mdx, www/docs/pages/transports/index.mdx
Transport examples handle creation errors. Pool construction closes clients already created when pre-population fails; Get and CallTool propagate errors. The in-process branch returns construction and initialization errors, defers client closure, and no longer waits indefinitely.
The documentation changes leave two examples with new compile errors and make the iterator guidance contradictory. Correct these localized examples; no production library behavior changes, so merge risk is bounded.

Explanation
The title "docs(client): fix examples for current constructors" matches the main change. The PR updates client guide examples (basics, overview, transports, operations, and in-process transport pages) to use the current constructors, the pointer client type, and constructor error handling. It uses a conventional commit style and is concise, specific, and free of file lists or vague terms.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the repository template. It includes a concise description of the changes and links issue #1195. It marks the Documentation update type and completes the checklist items that apply. It also gives validation details: comparison with the current declarations in client/stdio.go, client/http.go, client/sse.go, and client/inprocess.go, a passing git diff --check, and a note that no tests ran because the change is documentation-only. The MCP Spec Compliance section is not applicable and was correctly omitted or left out. The unchecked tests box is explained in the description.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Directly linked issue #1195 asks that client guide examples match current constructors and handle creation errors. Source at head confirms the constructor shapes: NewStdioMCPClient(command string, env []string, args ...string) (*Client, error) in client/stdio.go; NewInProcessClient(server *server.MCPServer) (*Client, error) in client/inprocess.go. The previous review also confirmed NewStreamableHttpClient and NewSSEMCPClient return (*Client, error). The diff of www/docs/pages/clients/transports.mdx was read directly. It shows: StreamableHTTP examples capture (c, err) and check err; the in-process example captures (c, err); TestClient.client changes from *client.InProcessClient to *client.Client; NewTestClient returns (*TestClient, error); the pool factory, NewStreamableHTTPClientPool, and Get return errors; CallTool propagates Get errors; ClientFactory.CreateClient returns (*client.Client, error); and the session example uses a concrete session ID in place of a non-compilable placeholder. The summaries for basics.mdx, index.mdx, operations.mdx, transports/index.mdx, and inprocess.mdx report the same pattern for the remaining requirements: env slice in the stdio examples, *client.Client in place of client.Client value types, removal of client.InProcessClient, and the stdio branch of NewManagedClient calling the stdio constructor. Residual uncertainty: the MDX bodies of the summarized files were not read directly. Helper functions such as createStreamableHTTPClient() and createSSEClient() in basics.mdx keep no error return, and the summaries do not state how their constructor errors are handled. The base version of transports.mdx may contain an unchanged stdio example. The diff does not touch any such example, and the summaries do not mention one. These points are not confirmed, but the bulk of the stated requirements is supported by direct or summarized evidence.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
All changed files are documentation pages under www/docs/pages/clients/ and www/docs/pages/transports/. The PR states the change is documentation-only. The transports.mdx diff, read directly, changes only constructor call sites, error handling, pointer types, and the signatures of example helpers and pool types. Those changes implement the bullets in #1195. The sessionID edit replaces a non-compilable placeholder in the constructor example with a concrete value. This supports the copy-ready goal of #1195. The changes in operations.mdx, which replace client.Client with *client.Client in example signatures, match the #1195 bullet about client.Client used as a value type. The transports/index.mdx inprocess branch changes (constructor error handling, closing the client, and returning Initialize(context.Background())) are edits to the same transport example. They are not separate unrelated behavior. No change was found that lacks a connection to #1195. Changes described only in summaries were not read directly.

Correct the iterator type comparison.
The other examples also use *client.Client. A pointer can call the iterator methods directly; applying the following type assertion to it does not compile. Reserve the assertion for interface values.

Update the iterator guidance near the MCPClient example to describe using
*client.Client directly, since its iterator methods can be called without a type
assertion; reserve type assertions for values held as interfaces.

Fix the in-process initialization call.
The example does not compile: Initialize requires an mcp.InitializeRequest and returns two values, but startServer returns one error. Start the client before initialization, pass a request, and return only the initialization error.

Update the in-process initialization flow in startServer so it starts the client
before calling Initialize, passes an mcp.InitializeRequest, and returns only the
initialization error to match startServer’s single-error return signature.

Remove the unsupported client tool capability.
The embedded example does not compile because mcp.ClientCapabilities has no Tools field and mcp.ToolsCapability is not defined. Replace the capability literal with mcp.ClientCapabilities{}. The server advertises tool support separately.

Review comment at @www/docs/pages/transports/inprocess.mdx at line 139:
The embedded example uses unsupported tool capability fields. Update the client
capability literal in the example near mcpClient to use an empty
mcp.ClientCapabilities value, and leave server tool-support advertisement
unchanged.

Register the calculator on the embedded server.
After the initialization example is corrected, ProcessWithMCP fails with a tool-not-found error instead of calculating 15. Register calculate and its handler on app.mcpServer.

Review comment at @www/docs/pages/transports/inprocess.mdx at line 139:
The in-process example does not register the calculator tool, so ProcessWithMCP
cannot find it. Register the calculate tool and its handler on app.mcpServer
before invoking ProcessWithMCP, preserving the example’s expected result of 15.
