The operations and fields the database has always carried but the interface never showed. The endpoints landed with the crate move; this puts them in front of the user.

Entries

  • Expiry can be set on an entry and is shown on it. An entry past its date is marked, in the detail panel and in the list it sits in, which is how every other client makes an expired password visible instead of letting it look fine.
  • Timestamps: created, last modified, last accessed, and the usage count.
  • Previous versions: an edit already recorded the version it replaced, but nothing showed them.
  • Attachments are listed by name and download. Two bugs there: the download went to get_file with no path prefix and put its parameters in a POST body the handler never read, so it could not have worked; and the names were read with Object.keys over what is a list, so a file would have been labelled 0.

Moving and deleting

  • Entries and groups can be moved through a picker that shows the tree. A group is not offered itself or anything below it as a destination.
  • Groups can be deleted, which sends them to the recycle bin with everything they hold. The root group offers neither, since it can be neither moved nor deleted.
  • Deleting the first thing creates the recycle bin server-side, and the tree is now read back afterwards: without that the bin holding the entry did not appear until a reload.

Groups

PUT /group takes notes and an icon along with the title. A request that leaves notes out keeps the ones the group has, so renaming does not wipe them.

Along the way

  • create_entry and update_entry took nine positional arguments each and were about to take eleven. They take one struct now, which is also where the "an empty password means leave it alone" rule lives, rather than being spelled out twice.
  • The "at most two subgroups" cap is gone from the interface, matching the backend, which lost it with the crate move.

38 backend tests and 60 end-to-end tests pass, 11 of them new.

Walkthrough

The PR adds entry expiry parsing, persistence, editing, and display. It adds timestamps, previous versions, and attachment listing to entry details. Users can move entries and groups, delete groups, and refresh the viewport after changes. Group destinations exclude the moved group and its descendants. End-to-end tests cover reorganisation, deletion, metadata, history, and expiry workflows.

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to bc6a7

Entry expiry can currently be saved without a deadline, and users outside UTC may see saved expiry times shifted when they reopen an entry, causing passwords to expire at the wrong time; rapid move or delete actions can also briefly show the wrong group. These bounded correctness issues should be fixed or explicitly accepted before merging.

and 229-229 so move and deletion calls to refreshGroup() are tied to the active
group-selection token, and discard responses whose token is stale after the user
selects another group. Apply the same cancellation or token-validation rule at
both sites, preserving refresh behavior for the currently selected group.

In `@src/server/route/keepass.rs`:
- Around line 83-86: Update parse_expiry and the create/update validation flow
to account for the expires flag: when expires is true, reject blank expiry
values instead of returning None, while preserving optional expiry when
expiration is disabled. Ensure this validation applies consistently before both
create and update operations, using the relevant EntryFields::apply path.
- Around line 89-91: Define and apply one canonical timezone contract for expiry
values across all three sites: in src/server/route/keepass.rs lines 89-91, parse
the submitted local datetime with an offset or timezone and normalize it to the
storage contract; in src/keepass/keepass.rs line 525, serialize expiry values
using that contract without labeling timezone-free values as UTC; in
js/scripts/EntryForm.js lines 50-52, submit and display expiry values
consistently with the canonical contract. Use the existing expiry parsing,
serialization, and form-handling symbols as integration points.
