The new version of hpqtypes binds a database session to the thread that started it, and it renames the operation that starts a further session. The package did not build against it.
The package now builds against hpqtypes 1.15.0.0 and passes the thread restriction on to its users. A query that runs outside the thread that started the session fails, so a child thread needs a session of its own.
Needs scrive/hpqtypes#96 (to be released with hpqtypes 1.15.0.0 before this is merged).
