I bumped tailwindcss to 4.3.3 in examples/astro and ran the build. It fails immediately while loading the Astro config:

It looks like you're trying to use `tailwindcss` directly as a PostCSS plugin.
The PostCSS plugin has moved to a separate package, so to continue using
Tailwind CSS with PostCSS you'll need to install `@tailwindcss/postcss`
and update your PostCSS configuration.

Four things need work, and none is mechanical:

1. examples/astro/astro.config.mjs calls tailwindcss({ config: ... }) as a PostCSS plugin. Version 4 moved that to @tailwindcss/postcss.
2. examples/astro/tailwind.config.js is CommonJS and uses require('path'). Version 4 is CSS-first and reads no JS config unless you add an explicit @config directive.
3. The config sets important: '.docx-editor' and a content glob over packages/react/src. Version 4 replaces content with automatic detection plus @source.
4. The whole theme.extend.colors block, about 35 --doc-* tokens, maps to @theme custom properties in version 4.

There is also a repo-level concern. The root and packages/core stay on tailwindcss@^3.4.1, and core bakes the scoped stylesheet into dist/editor.css at build time through scripts/build-core-styles.mjs and packages/core/tailwind.dist.config.cjs. Moving one example to version 4 puts two Tailwind majors in one repo, and the example would consume version-3-generated CSS from core while compiling its own utilities with version 4.

The right shape is one deliberate change that moves core and every example together. Reason for the earlier @dependabot ignore on this bump.
