TypeScript 7 is the native port. Its package no longer ships lib/typescript.js, which is the compiler API that Next.js loads for build-time type checking. next build cannot find it, falls back to auto-installing TypeScript with pnpm, and fails.

I verified this on both versions:

  • typescript@6.0.3 — lib/typescript.js present, bun run build in examples/agent exits 0.
  • typescript@7.0.2 — lib/typescript.js absent, build fails with Failed to install required TypeScript dependencies.

The example source itself is fine. tsc --noEmit under 7.0.2 is clean, so this is a Next.js integration gap, not a type error. This can land once Next.js supports the TypeScript 7 package layout.

Same blocker applies to examples/nextjs. #289 (astro) does build under TypeScript 7, but I suggest moving all nine examples together to avoid a split TypeScript version across sibling demos.
