Pocketr is a self-hosted, open-source personal finance application that makes everyday money management clear while keeping you in control of your data. It will always be free, and although developed in my free time, it is built with an uncompromising focus on reliability, thoughtful design, data integrity, security, and long-term maintainability.
Pocketr is actively developed, with new features added regularly. Breaking changes are reserved for cases where no practical alternative exists.
- Accounts and account management: Organize personal and household accounts while keeping balances clear and accurate.
- Transaction management: Record, review, and manage financial activity through a double-entry bookkeeping foundation built for correctness and future extensibility.
- Transaction categorization: Create and manage categories that turn transaction history into meaningful financial insight.
- Clear financial dashboard: Recognize spending patterns, understand where money goes, and identify opportunities to improve financial habits.
- Household collaboration: Share financial workflows through household membership and account management.
- Secure user access: Use session-based authentication and individual user profiles to protect access to financial data.
- Self-hosted and open source: Retain control over the application, its deployment, and your data.
