Doctoral researcher in Language Analysis and Processing at the University of the Basque Country (EHU), working within the HiTZ Zentroa research group.
My research focuses on the early explanatory prediction of cardiovascular risk, combining Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and clinical expertise to improve the early diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, especially Atrial Fibrillation.
I work with structured Electronic Health Records and free text clinical narratives, applying explainability techniques to develop transparent and clinically meaningful AI systems. My goal is to create reliable models that can support real clinical decision making.
I also have experience in medical machine translation and have contributed to shared tasks in biomedical question answering. My research has resulted in several publications on atrial fibrillation prediction.
I am strongly interested in explainability, clinical NLP and the integration of diverse biomedical data sources for trustworthy healthcare AI.
