Redkey Robin v0.2.2
This patch release changes how Robin handles Redis persistence on persistent
(
ephemeral: false) clusters: Robin no longer forcesappendonly yes, and thepersistence directives are now owned by
spec.config. There are no CRD changes.Warning
Breaking change for persistent clusters that rely on Robin's implicit AOF.
Read the migration notes below before upgrading.
Changes
appendonly yeson persistent clusters: leave AOF/RDB tospec.config#77). Robin keeps writingappendonly no+save ""for ephemeral clusters, while persistent clustersget no
appendonly/savedirective from Robin and take them fromspec.config. Whenspec.configsets none, the Redis defaults apply (AOF off,RDB with the default save points
3600 1 300 100 60 10000). This also stops thegenerated
redis.conffrom repeating directives that clients such as the Helmchart already set explicitly.
Upgrade impact
is only regenerated when the Redkey changes (config, image, resources, labels,
etc., applied through the upgrade flow that recycles the pods), when scaling up
from zero, or on a password rotation.
no data is lost.
dump.rdbwritten atshutdown, unless
spec.configsetssave "", in which case it starts empty.change applies on the next pod restart; after a crash, writes since the last RDB
snapshot are lost.
renders explicit
save/appendonlydirectives, which overrode Robin's line.Migration
To keep AOF on persistent clusters, add
appendonly yes(andsave ...if needed)to
spec.config, ideally in the same Redkey change that first runs with this Robinversion.
