Hello

I’m using the Android version of UndertaleModTool (Avalonia) on a Samsung Galaxy M20 (SM-M205, Android 10).

I have two problems that only happen on this device:

1. The app often crashes on launch with this error:
   android.util.SuperNotCalledException: Activity did not call through to super.onCreate()

2. When running any extraction scripts (Export sprites, textures, sounds, code, etc.), nothing is extracted correctly. Sometimes no files appear at all, and sometimes a file is created with no name.

These issues do not seem to happen on newer devices. I already tried reinstalling different versions, giving storage permissions, and choosing different folders, but the problems remain.

I found the problem: it’s related to storage permissions and the “Scoped Storage” restriction in Android 10, which prevents the app from freely writing to external folders.

This application has applied for the permission to manage all files, which was introduced in Android 11. In Android 10, it is necessary to appropriately revert back to applying for available storage permissions.

However,
android:requestLegacyExternalStorage="true" only worked on targetSdk = 29.

Solving this problem is a bit tricky
