I love learning! whether it's a new programming language, an interesting tool, or some intriguing service. If it seems interesting, I want to learn about it. 🤓
I currently work for a private university in western Germany, where my main area of responsibility is developing internal tools for employees and students.
My latest project is an AI-powered support chatbot that is helping students through day-to-day tasks.
From helping connect to services, recovering accounts to informing about upcoming events.
It is split into 3 parts:
- Self-trained classifier model using
paraphrase-multilingual-MiniLM-L12-v2to classify user requests language independent. - A Go Backend handling user auth, communications between systems and use of the Model provider EdenAI on their EU endpoint for compliance.
- A React Frontend, currently still in JavaScript although a refactor in TypeScript is planned.
Past projects include a QR code-based entry control system built around the vaccination app codes during COVID and live timetable displays shown on screens across multiple campuses.
Aside from developing software, my other focus areas at work are DevOps and training apprentices.
I am also currently going through Boot.dev's curriculum.
