So in MIL-STD-2525E, Table VI, it states that field W (Date Time Group) does not apply to symbol set 01 (air symbols). But figure D-3 clearly displays field W.
This is a contradiction in the MIL-STD, so the root cause is clearly the documentation. It seems that milsymbol conforms to the guidance in Table VI. Would it make sense to follow the more specific guidance for the symbol sets? My review of Table VI found a handful of errors already, so it seems this is one more.
