Using Podman

use a yaml file with Podman to get recipe up and running? or any other way to get it working on osx M3?

Using podman should work. I unfortunately don't know if it does on an M3 because I don't own such device.

I headed to the Podman Discord channel for help with this one and a Wonderful neighbor helped to get it working. Here's the post from Discord:

Although after playing around with the dockerfile it seems recipya does not update the url nor the port when editing the environment variables.

there is a workaround although its a bit cumbersome

after running the container and going through the setup process recipya will create a config file that you can edit the port/url to match URL=http://localhost/ and port=8080.

click on the 3 dots open logs and go to the terminal for the container

cd ~/.config/Recipya
vi config.json

edit the port and url to above

cd /
cd app
./recipya s

then it should work

the main problem is setting the recipya port to 8080. During the first time setup process you can set the url but im not sure why there is no option to set the port.

Podman works fine, but I'm also seeing these bugs where the environment variables don't work to set the port and for some reason, I'm not able to find the config file at /home/recipya/.config/Recipya/config.json.

For example, I have a Podman Quadlet:

So, I had to edit my Caddyfile to use that port to be able to log in. After that, I was hoping the config.json file would be created, but unfortunately no luck:
