It takes Caja many minutes to list a roughly 25000 files directory in GhostBSD #1900

Description

@BSDsEnjoyer

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Launch GhostBSD
  2. Set caja to list view
  3. Disable thumbnails (optional)
  4. Get a directory with ~25000 images.
  5. Try to open it with caja.

Expected Behavior

The directory should be opened in seconds, regardless of thumbnail settings.

Actual Behavior

It takes from ~5 to ~12 minutes for caja to list the directory. eom is also very slow to open an image in a directory once the directory is loaded, it took ~7 minutes to open a random image file.

Error Output

Not applicable

Version

1.28.0.

Distribution

GhostBSD-26.1-R15.0p2

Additional Context

Extensive testing proved that this is unrelated to hardware or the filesystem. On Linux Mint (Debian) the same directory was opened with Nemo in ~10 seconds and an image was opened in ~5 seconds.
This persists even after disabling thumbnails by changing the following settings:
In Views subwindow: Show icons to off (removed the checkmark)
In Preview subwindow: Show thumbnails for "Other Previewable FIles" to "Never"
The same happens with other directories containing large amounts of image files

Reproducibility

Every time
