Add digital photo handling (with no alterations)

I'd really love the ability to import a positive image and be able to add the border and filed edges around the frame. My current workflow is negative conversions in NegPy > Export as TIF > Final edits in Lightroom. I wish I was able to then import the finished image back into NegPy (with no conversions or alterations by the image processor) to add borders and filed carrier edges. Perhaps a niche use case but I saw it mentioned on the most recent Reddit thread as well - I know you can add the image in as a slide/positive, but it still changes the image (at least I don't know how to do this without it changes the image). Thank you!
