noScribe Editor macOS Sonoma text disappears while being read aloud

Hi,

I installed noScribe and noScribe Editor on my laptop (MacBook Air M1, 2020, macOS Sonoma Version 14.2.1.) a few days ago and I have a problem with the noScribe Editor.

When I place the cursor at the beginning of a sentence in the transcript and press the play audio button, the sentence disappears while it is being read aloud. Therefore, it is not possible to read the sentence while listening to the audio. (The sentence reappears after pressing the pause audio button.)

Do you have any idea how to fix this problem?

This sounds like a problem with light/dark mode and the highlighting color. When you press the orange button, the current segment is highlighted (selected) in the text. If the highlighting color is derived from the system settings and happens to be the same as the text color in the editor, the text seems to 'disappear'.

• Please select a piece of text with the mouse and see if this causes the same problem.
• Are you in light or dark mode on your computer?
• Can you change to the other mode (light/dark) and see if the problem disappears? You might need to restart the editor.

If the issue is confirmed, I can make some changes to prevent it.

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I am in dark mode on my computer. I changed to light mode and the problem disappeared. : ) Now the characters are black and the highlighting color "in the background" is medium grey.
