Hi @jmachuca77 and @codegistics (and anyone else who comes along later!). I'm pretty bad at remembering to check discord so instead of a discord how about we try this? If you want to hack on any bits of this (or have problems with my crummy build instructions) feel free to chat here and we'll figure something out! I'm hoping to have a fix for the dwarf3 support today or tomorrow (Taipei time). thanks for the macos fixes! |

I am going to provide whatever data is needed to test the scripts and test it on new data as I shoot. Down to contribute to code and documentation though my code skills are noob at best. LOL |

Sounds great on all counts!

(btw - I'm still working on a big bucked of new features - and fixing a few problems seen in the anon exception reports). So it will be a few more days before I can try on my Winows VM again... alas! |
|
I see a smaller data set on your to-do list. How small do you need? |

Hi Randall,
Thanks! I forgot to cross that off - thanks you your kind Dwarf donation
and a few files from my various devices that work item is done. It is
already being used in the integration tests:
https://github.com/geeksville/starbash/blob/main/justfile#L160
the 4GBish data set is here: (it includes a few frames for each platform
dwarf/seestar/asiair/nina and a few different filter options)

This is great... sorry I have been swamped at work and since I am taking next week off and going on a road trip I have a bunch of stuff to get done before then. But good news is I am going to Moab and Bryce Canyon for one night each and it looks like its going to be clear skies. So taking the scope with me. |
|
No problem! have a great trip. alas my back has been crummy the last couple of days so the next 'big' release will probably take another weekish (re-adding graxpert and starnet removal) |
|
I have an Askar FRA300 and a ZWO ASI585MC-Air ordered that might be here next week on the 24th. |
|
Congrats on the new gear. I bet you'll dig it. I'm making good progress on my dev branch and should be pushing out a new build 'soonish': |
|
btw @codegistics and @jmachuca77 I've temporarily turned off 'colaborators' because for some reason that seems to be breaking the CI integration with codecov. I'll turn it back on soon... I don't think it really makes a difference for ya'll though until someone needs push access. |
|
also - I had hoped to have auto graxpert in by today. And it is working on my machine but I have some changes that need to be merged upstream (or I will just fork it). Alas - I have to go out of town for a few days. But I get back Weds and should quickly have auto-backround and denoise recipes added by default then. Hopefully by next weekend the auto star removal steps will be in. |
|
okay full auto graxpert support is now in. I should have automated star removal (optional - will generate a starfree and a star mask) file in in the next few days. After I document a bit how recipes work and write a little tutorial/user-manual I'll do an alpha2 release (late next week?). Thank you for your brave help on the alpha1. |

I have been really busy as well but check in on the project and have pipx
try to do an update.
I'm also looking at a major surgery soon to fuse three different vertebrae
in my neck and hopefully a artificial disc below it to keep it from
destroying the c7/t1 where the neck ends and the spine in your back starts.
It's going to be a very painful surgery and a longer recovery than the
artificial disc surgery I had last year in my neck. But I will keep
checking in on the project and contributing as much as I am able while I
recover and I'm off of work.

No problem @codegistics I totally understand the neck surgery thing. I initially had them try a smaller procedure (a foraminotomy) which 'kinda' worked. But then a few years later I also had to do a three level fusion. FWIW I felt pretty good shortly after the surgery then shitty for about 6-9 mos? But after about a year later I was definitely way better off than I was pre surgery. Though I now need to do an absurd amount of yoga to keep things working. But yeah - shitty back/neck suxs ;-) |
|
How long did you have to stay in the hospital after the surgery itself? I'm
hearing 4 days but haven't heard anything definitive. I've also heard that
the pain is about an 8 out of 10 compared to the 4 out of 10 for my
artificial disc replacement last year.
