localtileserver started as a fun little hobby project for me, something I built because I needed a simple way to serve and explore geospatial raster data in a Jupyter Notebook. I never expected it to grow the way it has or to see so many of you relying on it in your own work.

With more people using the project, the need for stability, better features, and ongoing maintenance has grown too. I’d love to take localtileserver to the next level, but doing that sustainably means carving out more dedicated time for development.
