Third-party models

This software downloads and uses third-party models that are NOT included in
this repository and are each governed by their own license:

  - Qwen3-Embedding-0.6B (dense embedder, the default): Apache-2.0
    https://huggingface.co/mlx-community/Qwen3-Embedding-0.6B-4bit-DWQ
  - gte-reranker-modernbert-base (reranker, the default): Apache-2.0
    https://huggingface.co/afanjul/gte-reranker-modernbert-base-mlx
  - Qwen3-Reranker-0.6B (reranker, selected by BLKCHAIN_RERANKER_KIND=qwen3):
    Apache-2.0
  - jina-reranker-v3 (reranker, selected by BLKCHAIN_RERANKER_KIND=jina):
    CC-BY-NC-4.0, which permits non-commercial use only. The default reranker
    is Apache-2.0; select this one only where that license fits your use.
  - The synthesis LLM is served separately (any OpenAI-compatible local model)
    and carries its own license; it is referenced, not distributed here.

The corpus indexed by blkChain is user-supplied and is not distributed with
this software.

Third-party code
----------------

This software depends on third-party packages that are NOT included in this
repository. They are resolved at build time and each carries its own license.
The authoritative lists are cli/go.mod and cli/go.sum for Go, and
pyproject.toml and uv.lock for Python; the license texts ship with each
package in its own distribution.

Direct Go dependencies include the Charm terminal libraries (bubbletea,
bubbles, lipgloss, glamour), mattn/go-sqlite3, modernc.org/sqlite,
tmc/langchaingo, qdrant/go-client, modelcontextprotocol/go-sdk,
mxschmitt/playwright-go, gorilla/websocket, smacker/go-tree-sitter,
BishopFox/jsluice, muesli/termenv, atotto/clipboard, rivo/uniseg,
google.golang.org/grpc, the golang.org/x packages, and gopkg.in/yaml.v3.

Direct Python dependencies include mlx-lm, mlx-embeddings, qdrant-client,
fastembed, langchain-text-splitters, openai, tiktoken, pypdf, requests, and
numpy.

The isolated runner and browser images install operating system packages from
their base distribution, pinned in cli/runner/packages-amd64.lock and
cli/runner/packages-arm64.lock. Those packages carry their own licenses and
are not distributed with this software.
